Who says you can’t learn and have fun without leaving your home?
In this post, I have prepared some cool and different tips (I hope) for you to do during this period that we are living in Dublin (but that will soon pass), without having to leave home. Remember to invite your flatmates to have fun with you!
1. LEARN TO COOK A DIFFERENT MEAL!!
It’s always a good idea to learn a new recipe, don’t you think? So it is time to put into practice your culinary skills or even discover a new ability! Cooking is an excellent therapy for anxiety and boredom and, of course, enjoying a meal with people we like is even better!
Find below some recipes (of course I have chosen some traditional Irish food. Why not?) and get your hands dirty!
2. PLAN YOUR NEXT TRIP WITH YOUR FRIENDS (OR ALONE, IF YOU PREFER)
If you already had a trip scheduled for the next few days, but due to COVID-19 you had to cancel, don’t be discouraged! Take the time to review your script, research more and more, and keep everything as organized as possible. Believe me, the more prepared you are the more fun you will have!
I have listed some simple steps for you to plan your next trip in the best possible way. I hope they are useful and that you can actually get this trip off the ground!
- Research (a lot) before closing the destination!
- Having chosen the destination, it is time to organize your schedule, accommodation, transport, etc.
- Organize your finances! Remember that saving money is always the best idea 😉
- Put in order the necessary documents for the destination country
- Buy your tickets (preferably in advance – and don’t forget to keep an eye out for promotions)
- – Go ahead and start your dream trip!
3. MAKE A LIST OF THINGS YOU ARE GRATEFUL FOR!
Did you know that when we show gratitude for something or simply value small things, an area of our brain is activated causing the hormones responsible for the feeling of well-being and happiness (dopamine and oxytocin) to be released?
Start now and make a list of things which you are grateful in your life for and be happier!
#SmallTip: write small phrases on post-its and stick them on the wall of your room (or wherever you prefer), to remember (and be thankful) every day when you wake up <3
4. DISCOVER NEW MUSICAL STYLES!
Are you tired of listening to the same songs every day? I am one of those who enjoy researching new sounds for my ears (and for life), so I’ve decided to share some sites/channels that I use to listen to new artists out there!
Sofar Sounds is a company of musical events, which organizes small artistic/musical presentations which are not well known, in unique locations, in more than 400 cities around the world. The cool thing is that when you buy tickets to an event, you don’t know which bands are going to play. Just find out there and then! Super recommend 🙂
Due to COVID-19 they are not giving live presentations, but rest assured that there are always events online!
Tiny Desk Concerts is also a really cool channel to discover new artists. There you will find a series of videos of live shows, presented by NPR Music, always in an original and intimate setting. It is worthwhile for those who enjoy discovering new sounds or even checking out well-known bands in a different presentation!
5. LEARN HOW TO MAKE IRISH COCKTAILS!
You can’t go to pubs but they can come to you! Who will be the bartender this time? Enjoy your days at home to learn new drink recipes to impress friends or family!
In the following video, you will learn how to prepare 6 different Irish Cocktails in a simple and mouth-watering way!
Extra Activity, but Outdoor this time:
